New Rolling Average Handicapping Explained

In an effort to help players understand the new Rolling Average Handicapping System, we have put together some examples below to help you. The new system has a downwards bias initially which is intentional to aid us to bring down some of the higher handicaps quickly.

There is also a default differential added to the calculation to stop players from getting a large number of strokes added to their handicap in the first few weeks. Even after playing 20 rounds you should still find that your Sevens handicap is lower than your 18-hole handicap due to the relative ease of shooting better 9-hole scores than 18-hole scores.

Shafted presented with Champions League Runner-Up Trophies

Team Shafted from the Goonawarra Golf Club got a visit from the Gopher on Tuesday 17th of November and were presented with the Runner-Up trophy for the 2009 Champions League.  The players were disappointed in losing the big match, but were grateful in finishing as the second best Sevens Golf team in Australia for the Year, not an easy thing to do considering there are around 400 teams now playing around Australia.

They congratulated the Wanna Wac Em team on their victory and wished them all the best, and are hoping to get another chance with a different result next time around.

Congratulations Shafted!

Champions League Belt presented to Wanna Wac Em

The Champions League Belt was presented to Wanna Wac Em at the Forbes Golf Club where it will proudly remain on display for the next 12 months.

Team Captain Libby Godden praised her sides commitment to winning the title for not only themselves, but for all of Forbes, a town which has been devastated by continuing drought conditions.  Libby had this to say at the presentation,

"On behalf of all girls in the Wanna Wac Ems I would like to thank the organisers of Sevens Golf, all the members of the Forbes Golf Club, a special thanks to Tony, Ray, Marg and Ronny for all the support and encouragement you have given us throughout this competition.

And not forgetting our families, who some of us have neglected for the last five weeks, or maybe since we started playing golf!
