The Grange Golf Club launch Sevens Golf
The Grange Golf Club Professional Wayne Parlato launched their inagural season of Sevens Golf with a visit from the Gopher. The season begins on Monday October 26 with two weeks of pre-season before the round robin series which is due to begin on November 9th.
Devilbend Golf Club meets the Gopher
Devilbend Golf Club (VIC) met the Gopher on Friday 16th October and took him on in a Nearest the Pin competition on the TOC at Sawgrass' famous par-3 17th. The island green proved a challenge for some, with many balls lost in the water, but the Gopher had no such trouble, hitting his shot to about 7m from the pin! Two players were lucky enough to hit the ball inside a metre and all walked away with a prize at the end of the night. The Sevens Golf season begins at Devilbend Golf Club on October 26 with two weeks of pre-season, with Round 1 due to begin on November 9th. The Gopher waves to the crowd below, and shoots for the green in the Wii golf Nearest to the Pin competition.
Griffith Golf Club supports Cerebral Palsy Support Group
The Griffith Golf Club launched their fourth season of Sevens Golf with an announcement that a donation will be made for every round played during Summer 09-10 to the newly formed Cerebral Palsy Support Group Griffith. The Griffith Golf Club also announced that they would match the donation made by Sevens Golf dollar for dollar! Over 50 teams of Seven have already registered for the event to begin on November 9th. The Gopher continues his launch tour in Maryborough (Vic)
The Gopher was last spotted in Maryborough, Victoria to launch their first ever Sevens Golf season. Some of the Maryborough locals braved the freezing conditions to have their photo taken with Gopher and also got to check out some of the style that makes him a very credible 52 handicap Sevens player!
