The action is hotting up with just 3 rounds remaining in the Alice Springs 2010 competition...
In Division 1, Lasseters Hotshots all but cemented thier finals appearance for 2010 with a nailbiting 73-71 victory over The Close Enoughs. Allan Duffell top scored for Lasseters Hotshots with 20 and was helped along by Stasiek Struginski 19, Max Cameron 17 and Grant Souter 17 points. Matt Percy and Ross Cole top scored for Close Enoughs with 19 points but unfortunately for them, close enough wasn't good enough to get the points on this occasion. With three rounds remaining, APOTASP are the only side that can force their way into the Top 6 and make the finals playoff's. They can mathematically make it with three wins from the three remaining matches provided that Lasseters Hotshots don't win another game. More than likely they will need to win all three and pick up the half bonus point on offer each week for having all 7 team members register a score to be any chance.
In Division 2, A1 Mechanics kept their finals hopes alive after they defeated Tattoo Golf 52-36 in a low scoring match. Principal Women scraped home against the Shaggers 46-11 and remain in sixth spot on the ladder with 3 rounds remaining. VAGS caused an upset when they toppled the competition leaders Ruff Nuts 77-70 and lept into fourth spot on the back of that performance. Stephen Morris, Antony Brown and Daniel Brown all sored 20 points for VAGS. Brad Tessman was the best in a beaten side scoring 21 points.
In Division 3, the matches are becoming hit and miss with Ross Engineering seeming to be unstoppable at the top of the ladder after another impressive victory, this time over That's Gold 81-74. That's Gold certainly lifted their game for the occasion but it wasn't to be as Ross Engineering proved far too strong when the week drew to a close. A 23 point haul from Quentan Siddans and 22 from Neil Ross was too much of a start for Ross Engineering as they were countered by Marion Delsar's 20 point top score for That's Gold. Tim Young and Jim Alt also played well for That's Golf with 19 points. Seven Saints look to be the only side now capable of forcing thier way into the finals from outside the Top 8 after they dispatched of Quadruple X 59-34 last week. ** The Top 8 make the finals in Division 3, Top 6 in Divisions 1 & 2.
Individually over the past two weeks;
Centrelian Motors Round 13 - 236 rounds were returned with 40 balls rewarded to players on 19 points or higher. Lorraine Drew had a round to remember when she scored 26 points to beat everyone home. Brian Knight played very solid golf all the way in scoring 24 points and finishing second for the week.

Daniel Yamada and Cameron Cole produced superb rounds to claim the high score for Round 14 with 26 points each. Ben Fisher and Jarrod Arnold also produced high quality shots to score 24. Lynda Galinat was the best of the women golfers with a very good score of 21 points.
Player of the Year
Male - Quenton Siddans remains in the lead after 14 rounds on 62 POTY points. Albert Tilmouth is in second spot on 54 POTY pts. Shaun Broomhall has crept up to 53 points and Ryan Joyner 51 with both men still able to win it with a maximum of 30 POTY points up for grabs over the final 3 weeks.
Female - Debra Fround has reclaimed top spot in the womens section on 54 POTY points, pushing Gail Scobie back into second spot on 53. Lynda Galinat is still lurking in third position on 50 and is still very much in the hunt.
POTY Points will be awarded as follows: Based on the players best score for the week only. The highest individual score each week is awarded 10 POTY points, for every shot scored below the highest individual score, 1 point is deducted. i.e. Best individual score for the week is 26 – every player with 26 as their best score earns 10 POTY pts, 25pts – players earn 9 POTY pts, 23pts – players earn 7 POTY pts…….. 17pts – players earn 1 POTY pt, 16pts and below – zero (0) POTY pts. Pre-Season, Mid-Season and Finals Rounds are excluded from the Player of the Year calculation.
Biggest Loser
Male - Albert Tilmouth and Shaun Broomhall continue to lead the men's section with a 16 shot reduction. Joshua Robinson is searching for another good round as he sits in third on 15 strokes reduced. Rohan Duncan (14) and Shaun Berriman (13) are possible bolters over the final weeks.
Female - Gail Scobie is way out in front in the female section with a 13 stroke reduction in handicap, but may be ruled out if she wins the Player of the Year trophy. Bev Watkins is sitting pretty on 7 strokes reduced, while Debra Froud has lost 6 strokes and Viviene Casteneda has lost 5.
Asprint Round 15 Draw:
This weeks match of the round in Division 1 is between 7th placed APOTASP and 4th placed Seven Wonders. As reported earlier, APOTASP need to win with bonus points to have any chance of making the finals in three weeks time.
Division 2's match of the round is between 7th placed A1 Mechanics and 1st placed Not As Reported. A1 need a win to move into 6th spot and will need to play their best. This is where bonus half competition points for having all 7 players on deck become worth the effort.
In Division 3, Sevens Saints have plenty of work to do to defeat the second placed Golferoo's if they are to make the Top 8. Again, the bonus half point for having all 7 players return a score during the round may be a consolation for Seven Saints and keep them in the hunt, even if they lose the match.
